Acai Liquid Fruit Extract

INCI - Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract. Will alter depending on ingredients used to create extract.


What is it - Acai liquid fruit extract is made by suspending the fruit extract in a suitable solvent such as glycerin, water, ethanol or propylene glycol. Acai fruit has been shown to have wound healing benefits. Results of in vitro studies showed that Acai berry fruit water extract was a useful material for wound healing. (Kang Mi Hyun et al, 2017).


pH - Compatible over wide range of pHs, check with individual suppliers.


Safety limit - Typically used up to 2%.


Formulas used in - Eye cream, lotion, night cream, serums, hair products.


Formulation notes - Use in the cool down phase of emulsions. Remember liquid fruit extract using water, glycerin or propylene glycol solvents will only be soluble in water. Opt for using liquid extracts as these are much easier to incorporate into formulas than powdered plant matter which often wont fully dissolve into water or oil.


Odour - Characteristic.


Form - Faint coloured liquid.


Heat sensitivity - Up to 40°C.


Solubility - Water soluble.


Natural / synthetic status - Check with individual suppliers, some add synthetic preservatives to their extracts which revokes its natural status.


Contraindications - Hypersensitivity to acai palm or any of its components.
