Rosehip Seed CO2 Extract

INCI - Rosa Canina Fruit Extract.


What is it - Rosehip seed CO2 extract is made using a carbon dioxide (CO2) extraction process from highly concentrated extracts of the fruit of the rose plant, which produces an oil that is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins, as well as antioxidants.


pH - 4-6.


Safety limit - Typically used up to 2%.


Formulas used in - moisturisers, serums, anti-ageing creams, facial oils, eye creams, sunscreens, body lotions, lip balms, acne treatments, scar healing products, and haircare treatments.


Formulation notes - Soluble in fats - suitable for anhydrous formulas. Add during cool down phase in emulsions.


Odour - Characteristic.


Form - Yellow / red clear oil.


Heat sensitivity -  Up to 40°C.


Solubility - Oil soluble.


Natural / synthetic status - Natural usually however check additives added to extract as these may synthetic.


Contraindications - Rosehip seed extract is generally considered safe for most skin types. Those with allergies should take caution. Always conduct a patch test when using new ingredients.
